The Big Event, Edinburgh is free to attend with plenty of free accessible parking.

There is an accessible car park shuttle available to help you get to and from the event. The event will showcase a wide range of cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), adaptations, scooters and powered wheelchairs available on the Motability Scheme. You can test drive (as a driver or passenger) a variety of standard production and adapted vehicles, including EV’s with a qualified professional driver.

On arrival at our events, you’ll be given a token that you can exchange for a free tea, coffee or soft drink and there will be a choice of hot and cold food to purchase. We have an activity area with free face painting, free balloon modelling and much more. There is a quiet room available with sensory products and a limited number of ear defenders available to borrow on request. We have no music playing at our events and our loudspeaker announcements are kept to a minimum.

We provide additional fully accessible toilets along with a High Dependency Unit equipped with adult and child changing facilities within the hall. We have a number of scooters and manual wheelchairs available to borrow free of charge, available to prebook on our website on Monday 12 August at 10am. Scooters and wheelchairs can be collected outside the foyer at the main entrance to the event. Assistance dogs are welcome at The Royal Highland Centre, however any other dogs or pets are not allowed and will be refused entry. Please do not leave your dogs in your car while you attend our events.
